Delft Plate Order Update
There has been a considerable delay in getting Delft plate orders despatched from Holland. We have just received a detailed update from our manufacturer, and in order to re-assure our customers that their orders are not forgotten, only delayed, we have reproduced the full update hereunder: "Your orders were in fact ready, but when they came out of the oven the colour of the paint of the printing (so not the paint applied by hand) was much too pale and we decided that we really cannot send them like this. So we printed another 500 plates, and again the same problem. The problem now is, that the paint is running out due to all these remakes. We ordered new paint a month ago but last week our supplier informed us that they cannot deliver this paint anymore and they had to deliver an alternative and sent us a sample. This has to do with the environment, and every paint-supplier for ceramic industries has to deliver products that are lead-free. So we did a test with this new paint and, fortunately, the colour was much better, BUT the delivery time is longer. So we are now waiting for this new paint. And we expect to receive it this week so that we can start printing and painting again."
